The Catholic League issued a press release today quoting hate-mongering, and University of Minnesota psuedo-professor, PZ Myers now saying he will desecrate a Qur'an:
"...Myers says that “Thanks to all those who have demanded that I treat that silly book [the Koran] with disrespect, I’ll have to treat both equally.”
[On his original post Myers adds: "Since I now own one entirely superfluous copy of the Koran, it will meet the very same fate as the crackers." Meaning it will be desecrated as well.]
Bill Donohue, CL President hits the nail on the head in today's P.R. , "Instead of treating Catholicism with the respect he has previously shown for Islam, he now pledges to disrespect Islam the way he pledges to disrespect Catholicism..."
It is disgusting that this man would go so out of his way to attack other people's beliefs. Anyone's beliefs. I have a feeling, his support will be cut by 80% after this move, as his supporters realize he is not an activist taking on the mighty Catholic Church, he is just a whack-job, disguised as a college professor, spewing hatred from his sick, personal mind.

Somewhere in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, there is a University President whose beginning to realize the severe problem he has sheltered in his university, and that it is becoming too much of a liability.
I would suggest to this University President to check his university's internet records, establish proof that Myers posts these vile posts on his blog during working hours with University property, which he does, then show him the door and delouse the biology department.
He can even replace him with another Atheist. Just get an intelligent one.
